Today we travelled back from Memphis to a small town called Carthage so that we were back on Route 66.

The journey was 407 miles on very boring interstate highways.

This was the most interesting thing we saw during our 6 hour journey today.

After setting off at 10am we arrived 6 and a half hours later at around 4:30pm when we checked into the amusingly named Precious Moments Hotel. It is filled with a group of more than 15 Australians also doing Route 66.

Carthage has a historic 66 drive-in. We went along and watched two films (Inside Out and Jurassic World). It was great again to immerse ourselves in American family life as the majority of the people there were families who brought along picnics and chairs to sit in the back of their pickup trucks and watch the films.
