Day 27 - Hesperia to Palm DesertAs we are close to the end of Route 66 we thought we'd take some time out for R & R. We did a diversion off into the Joshua Tree National Park. Here are the trees that the park is named after. They are adapted to survive in this very hot and dry desert area by having a very shallow, wide root system and small, spiky leaves.
The land in the desert is made more interesting by these boulder outcrops.
Although it was a very dry and barren place there were many interesting and colourful plants to be seen. Our hotel for the next two days to chill out before the madness of LA.
For some reason the hotel has boats in its lobby. Comments
