On the drive today we saw many 66 icons and again lots of big scenery.

One of the most popular roadside signs on the whole of 66 is the Jack Rabbit Trading Post sign. 'Here It Is' with Tom standing under it. 

Here we are 'standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona'. These are lyrics from the song 'Take It Easy' by the Eagles and this corner in Winslow commemorates that song.

At an abandoned trading post we found this giant dream catcher. 

One of the most interesting stops today was at a crater in the Arizona desert made by a meteor. To give an idea of scale the crater is 1 mile across and the depth of the crater is about 570 feet. This was made from a relatively small meteor. 

Tom and I found this fixer upper and thought we may be able to make a go of it.

We saw this sign at another iconic 66 roadside stop but a sign and small fence wasn't going to stop us getting a picture... 

... at Twin Arrows town. 

This junction had us scratching our heads.

We took some advice from our neighbour Bill and instead of stopping on Route 66 tonight we drove a bit further to Sedona. This was the view from our hotel balcony and the rocks changed colour as the sun went down. It was definitely worth the extra drive.
