The city of Albuquerque was used for the TV series Breaking Bad. Tom and I are big fans of the show and so took this opportunity to do a self driven tour around the locations. If you are not a Breaking Bad fan then these photos will mean nothing to you so I suggest you skip forward to the Indian reservation we visited.

This is Walter White's house.

This is Hank Schrader's house.

This is the car wash that Walt and Skyler bought.

The 'Sinners N Saints' bar is where Saul's office was.

This is Jesse Pinkman's house.

This is Martin outside of Los Pollos Hermanos, which is now a burrito and burger restaurant called 'Twisters'

This is inside Los Pollos Hermanos.

The above red rock outcrop characterises the landscape that we drove through today. Most of it is Native American land.

Today we visited one Native American tribe's home. It is unique because they built their homes on top of a mesa, which is a flat topped rock with steep sides. This place is home to the Acoma tribe and they call it 'Sky City'. A few westerns have been filmed here and the most notable one is My Name is Nobody a 1973 film starring Henry Fonda.

This is the view from the top of the mesa and you can see another in the background. This provided excellent protection for the Indians until the heavily armed Spanish arrived looking for gold. There was no gold for them as the Indians were just farmers and the only golden thing they had was straw.

These ladders lead to places of worship for the Indians.

The buildings are made from straw, mud and stone. Above is a catholic church built by the Spanish who tried to convert the Indians to catholicism. They were partly successful and to this day many Indians practise both Native American religion and catholicism.
