Day 7 - St Louis to SpringfieldOur drive today was from St Louis to Springfield, Missouri, which was a two hundred mile long journey. Our first stop was at the Meramec Caves. The caves are formed from water seeping through the rock a bit like our own limestone caves except these ones are dolomite. Like everything in America these caves were vast in their size and in the past they allowed cars to drive inside them.
The natural beauty of the caves was breathtaking. It was only spoilt by the cheesy god bless America light show, which was at the very end.
One of the many roadside attractions we stopped at today was the worlds largest rocking chair, which had a gift shop and archery range if you felt the need to practice your bow skills.
The two sights above made us laugh as we drove by :)
We finally reached our destination for the day: Springfield, Missouri. We stayed in a historic Route 66 motel from the 1930s and although it was comfortable and clean, the plumbing was still from the 1930s and the internet speed was from the early 1990s! Comments

I hope you didn't take Tom into the adult shop? Maybe you treated Jackie to a gift?
